Madelyn Guest Blogger for February 3rd to the 7th:

In class we read Caldecott books.  Caldecott books are stories that win an award, The Randolph Caldecott Award, for being the most famous children’s picture books.

I liked the book Little Red Writing because it was the story of Little Red Riding Hood but instead of people they used pencils as characters. The Mighty Lalouche was a good book and told you that even if you are small, you can do big things. I also liked the book Journey because whatever the girl drew with her crayon came to life.

The books that won the Caldecott honor were Mr. Wuffels, Journey, and Flora and the Flamingo. The winner was Locomotive.  It was about a family who traveled the U.S. in a train.

My class really enjoyed the books. We are happy we got to read most of them.  We read some of the following books: The Boy Who Loved Math, The Dark,
Daisy Gets Lost, and much more. I hope you enjoyed reading this and those books.
