Exploring and Learning about Biomes...

The Ocean:

Students are making storm drains for art. We had a discussion on how to take care of the ocean and the importance of storm drains. We read a book "All the Way to the Ocean". We brainstormed on how storm drains protect the oceans and their purpose.

We are storming through the 3rd grade!

 The desert:
Mapping deserts on the world map.

Anchor chart on the desert and on animal adaptations in the desert. Students have learned that animals in the desert have either a physical or behavioral adaptation.

Biome Sort:

Students were given information and then had to figure out what category/biome that information belonged to. This was very challenging  and fun activity for some students. We will do this activity again in class.
