Feb 13th activities

Sorting carnation hearts. This taught students graphing, reviewed addition, taking inventory, and tied in with economics. Some bags had less hearts compared to other bags and we talked about why that would be and which one they would  buy/purchase.  We also found out what color was the most popular and least. We found that orange was the most and blue/yellow were the least.

Making new words out of the letters of Valentine's Day. Each student worked with a partner to see how many words they could come up with.

 Passing out Valentine's
The book we read today in class
Friendship poems about our friends.
We discussed Abraham Lincoln and George Washington this week in honor of President's Day. The photographs are photos I took when I visited the Lincoln Monument last spring.

Have a great four day weekend class! See you Tuesday.

Questions for you: What are you going to do this weekend? What are you going to read? What our some Valentine's Day traditions your family might have?
